I finally had the chance to put these heads to a real life test. Last night i shot a doe at about 14 yds broadside. The shot was about 4" high of center, due to extreme stand height and shot angle, and just behind the shoulder. It was not a complete pass through but penetrated both sides of the rib cage and stopped between the ribs and hide on the opposite side collecting both lungs. The entrance hole was about a 2-2 1/2 inch hole, the blood trail was non existent due to the high entrance and lack of an exit hole but she only went about 100 yds. The real story came upon field dressing the deer. When i recovered the broadhead it had separated from the arrow shaft and at first i thought it had just unscrewed but thats not the case, the entire threaded portion of the ferrule had broken off and all of the blades were gone. I suspect that they are lodged between the ribs and the hide but have yet to confirm that. I'm going to give these heads another try because i believe in the G5 line of heads but so far I am not sold on the durability of the T3.
