Default Pinecrest Stamping ?

Received this 1953 Pinecrest over the weekend and noticed B.B. stamped in front of Pat. Pend. Hoping a seasoned collector can tell me what the B.B. stands for

I have contacted two long time broadhead collectors and the B.B. is still a mystery.

The one thing that I want to point out is that stamped variations or unstamped does not make it a different ABCC number.

Yes you are correct. The rules state that the following "stamped letter(s) or logo, either raised or imprinted" are differences that are not eligible for a separate listing.

Rick -

Actually the most interesting thing to me about the head you posted is not the BB stamping but rather the ridge in the ferrule just above where the sloped shoulders touch the ferrule.

It just so happens that the head shown on page P-19 in the Third Edition of "1871-1971" is also stamped with the BB and has a similar area on the ferrule that is parallel before the tapering of the outside of the ferrule begins. Note that several Pinecrest in the Third Edition on pages P-10 and P-11 have this parallel area.
