Default Some New Mechanical Broadheads 2016

I am going to post some pictures of some new mechanical broadheads that have come out recently.

I figure it is about time that there are some new posts and this seems to be a subject that might draw some interest.

This first post is of a new head called the Swat A4 by R.R.A.D. LLC. and can be viewed at

    swatbroadheads

It has (4) opening blades and (2) Slicer Tips. For collectors the ABCC number is 1227.300 Update: the number has been changed to 1227.305

    Default Blood Therapy

The Blood Therapy heads are classified as mechanical because the blade rotates. The company has introduced a new 100 grain head in a D6 version and also a 125 grain head in a standard SI version. These are new versions of the original rotating blade head called the Pioneer Game Tamer (Pizza Cutter) which came out in 1969

You can view their Website at

    Blood Therapy Broadheads

The 100 grain D6 head is ABCC #0257.105 and the 125 grain head is ABCC #0257.110

    Default Second Cut

This is a different kind of product and I am not sure if it officially came out this year or last. It is technically a broadhead because it attaches to the front of an arrow and has cutting blades. It is an arrow extension that goes on your arrow adding a little over 4 inches to it. It screws into your arrow's SI adapter. Your broadhead (or field point I guess) then screws into the SI adapter at its tip. It will increase your arrow weight by another 227 grains and add another 2 cutting blades to your arrow.

It is ABCC #1122.300 The first picture shows it as it would be when you launch the arrow. The second picture show the blades that are deployed after it hits your target. There were a couple of other attempts at similar products back in the 80's and 90's. There is also another product that came out called the Slash Arrow which is very similar but you need to buy the entire arrow from them.

    Default Rest Stop

I have about another 50-75 mechanical heads to photograph from 2015 and 2016 and add to my book. I am not sure how many of the 2016 heads I might get done this week, but if I don't get to them all, it will go on hold for a couple of weeks (or a month) for deer pursuit.

I know that there are a lot of people interested in the new heads that are coming out and all of them are not collectors.

However, if you know of a new mechanical head please send me a PM and tell me about it. The club may already know about it, but we don't want any heads to slip past us without documenting them.

    Thanks

    Default Swhacker

They have come out with a new Swhacker 2 Crossbow 125. I do not have one of the practice heads so I can only show the actual mechanical head.

    The ABCC # is 1227.608

They also came out with a 100 grain version of the Crossbow 2. It is ABCC number 1227.606

The Swhackers must be really great heads, because they have all kinds of people in China making copies of them. I will show some of them in later posts.

It is not right for a China company to copy and steal a USA companies design. They are not paying their P/R taxes, they are infringing on USA patents, and they are selling (6) of their heads with postage for less than you can buy a single real Swhacker.

I will say more about them in later posts.
