Thumbs up All Right I'll Go First

I have shown pictures of some of the early mechanical heads in a post under Mechanical Broadheads. So here is the question for you guys and gal out there. Do you consider this a Mechanical (it has a movable blade) or Fixed (It has a blade that is not replacaeable)?

The head is called a Pioneer Game Tamer (aka Pizza Cutter) from around 1969. This heads helps show that just about every idea for broadheads has been tried before.

Mechanical but not an expandable. There were also a couple of others that could be classed the same:
Pucketts and Knife wing.

I was hoping for more replies than the site Master, a fellow collector (one of only three I have found so far on this site), and an Italian who loves pizza. But I guess you get what you get. So far all three of these guys are right. Yes as collectors we consider it a mechanical because the blades move and yes it actually might be good for cutting up pizza. Now most people think that all mechanical heads are Expandable, but in the near future I will show you some more that don't, but are still considered mechanical

How many others are out there, that have actually seen this head before? How many other collect broadheads or have thought about doing so?

I'm also retired, which gives me more time to collect, but with limited funds

I would consider the Pioneer Game Tamer, aka Pizza Cutter, a mechanical since it has a moving part.

Would love to add one to my collection.

Booner - Good start to your collection, however I noticed that the picture was titled Ben Pearson but it actually appears to be a Herter's. It looks short because of the angle of the picture, but I think I am right. Is it stamped JAPAN on the blade near the bottom?

Bowhuntrerfrompast - How many heads do you have in youur collection? Are you a member of the ABCC (American Broadhead Collectors Club)?

Booner:
Didn't you have a picture of the grey Mowhawk swivel head...is that yours? I can't find the thread again. It was the first part of what is now called"Raghorn Fever"

right now i'm just "collecting" modern broadheads. It's to cold and snowy to use them right now. I really don't need another addiction anyway

Big Boar...I have around 200 of the glue-on broadheads, and about 40 of the mechanical/screw-in heads. I became a member of the ABCC on 6/22/09.

Here is the link to my photobucket Broadhead Collection pictures by bowhunterfrompast - Photobucket

To bowhunterfrompast:
Well then Mr Holmes ( you know like Sherlock) tells me you are either Daryl D. from Columbia or Richard W. from Blue Springs? Sorry I couldn't see your photos. If you are interested I have lots of traders and have almost 300 I will sell to collectors for $4 or less. Since I just sent some heads to D.D I am thinking you are R.W.

To Booner:
Herter's is a nice head to start your collection with. Just joining the club will not help you from being lied to (but it better not be from a member). But I will make you an offer. Send me an email if you're interested and I will send you details about the club. If you join the club I will personally give you a 1953 Ben Pearson Barbed ABCC # 0178.000 with your membership. That is probably a better deal than the last one you got. What could be better than getting one of the Grand PuPa's of the site in our club. Not only that but your collection will have doubled with two heads at least 45 years old.
