Just like they would out of a recurve.
Did you decide you did not want a trade list?

Picked up another neat old broadhead for the collection and was sent a cool Pioneer Game Tamer card.
This is a 1928 Hugo Buckner broadhead. During the 1920's Hugo Buckner from Hanford, California advertised and sold several broadheads and some of Hugo's heads were found on arrows hand made by Art Young. ![]() How many of us wish we could of bought one for this price ![]() ![]()

I recently picked up an arrow with what I believe is a c.1936 Chester Brown SlpS, Str Edge, .35" BF (?). Ads unknown so it has no ABCC number, but a neat old broadhead/arrow for the collection.

G'day bowhunterfrompast.
I'm just wondering as to the size of the forementioned b'head. Is this broadhead just on the inch (1") mark +- in it's width and is its length from the ferrule base to blade tip just within the two and a quarter inches (2.25") I'm just interested in knowing if this is some what correct. thanks..........dustman. |

No, no,.......... like I said the foremention head, the head that you believe is c.1936 Chester Brown SlpS, Str Edge.
It is interesting to know if this head is just on the inch (1") mark +- in it's width. And is its length, from the base of the ferrule to blade tip just within the two and a quarter inches (2.25") taking in account the size before and after sharpening that other heads may have received over time., thanks. |

I was looking for another broadhead in Wade's "Broadheads 1871-1971" and discovered another head this one resembles more. Fredrick Hess an early Michigan bowman. His broadheads have strongly forward sloping shoulders, as this one does. I searched for more information and came up empty handed. Can anyone tell me more about Fredrick Hess and his broadheads. Were they hand made or was a die used?
![]() This is the fletching end of the arrow. The arrow measures 26 7/8" from back of broadhead to nock groove.
