You can also shoot me a pm if you want sharpening advice but Stan really knows his stuff. He taught me a few tricks as well and I have been using them.
I for one prefer to use a filed edge I don't like to polish my edges as much and I have had great blood trails with a filed edge, I can get a filed edge more "grabby" when sliding it on my finger nail and it seems to do a very good job.
