Ok, here we go with our second contest before the Holiday. This one will require a little effort on your part and should be a great contribution to the forum.
The prize: 1 package of Slick Trick Standard 100gr Broadheads The Contest: 1. Start a new thread in any broadhead section. General, Fixed, Mechanical, Traditional, or Homegrown. Identify your Contest Entry Thread by posting the light bulb icon in the thread title. 2. Thread must contain an article, review, test, or other relevant and interesting information, relating to the Forum that you posted the thread in. This information can be original content created by you or it can be content that is out there on the web. If you get content from another site, we ask you to include the author's name or reference where you got the info from. 3. The winner of the contest will be the author of the thread that gets the most views out of all entries. Admins and Mods can tell if/and how many times you click on your own thread, so lets be honest and play fair. 4. If you link your thread on another site, facebook, email, etc., your thread views will be greater. However, please do not spam other sites and if you post the link to your thread on another forum, please make sure you are following their rules when it comes to posting links to other forums. 5. The contest will end at 9:00 p.m Monday night. The author of the thread with the most views wins the Slick Tricks. If you have any questions about the contest, post them in this thread. Good Luck. **Dr. Ed Ashby's report on the single bevel broadhead is not an eligible form of content for this contest. Although it is an exceptional piece of information and probably the most extensive piece of research in this industry, it has already been posted and linked on this forum numerous times.

Wow, you really thought this one out.
You guys are on your own for this game, my brain isn't that quick at the end of the weekend, especially after Christmas shopping at the mall with both of the girls yesterday

You peaked my curiosity with saying that I should read Dr. Ashby's report, well, I searched for it on-line, found it, you didn't tell me it was a book , tried reading it on the computer screen but my eyes were going crazy. My home pc is being fixed, imagine that with teenagers and I am having to use a laptop from work so I don't have printing capabilities, but I will be printing it and giving it a really good read. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry girl. It is quite lengthy. However you will be glad you took the time to read it. It will really open your eyes on broadheads. I have an idea for when you get finished reading it. Let me know when you are done.

Well Booner, I am done reading his report. I actually found some things quite interesting. I was thinking while reading it though that maybe I should have taken some physics classes, good thing he tries to simplify things
![]() So let me know your idea

I would like to see you prove one of his points with a test of your own. Coming from someone who has just become involved in bowhunting, with you explaining the point in your own vernacular, and with your own technique, it may shed some new light on the details. Are you up to it?

I found it really interesting about the fact that the single fixed blade heads stood up and did more damage than mechanical heads. I don't know alot about broadheads but I just assumed that the mechanicals would do more damage, also the fact that most pass throughs were with the single blades. And the weight of the arrows, I was amazed at the weight of the arrows they were shooting.
I do think the report was a very good read and quite knowledgeable but it is one that I am going to re-read a couple of times to be able to soak all of it in. I also read the report about momentum and kinetic energy, which you need the physics class for, and I found some things in there that I found interesting, the shaft of the arrow being smaller than the ferrell of the broadhead, but after thinking about it, it makes a lot of sense because if the shaft were a larger I would think that would stop or slow the momentum of the arrow on impact. I am looking forward to learning more upon reading the report again and also from you guys. Now maybe I will be able to ask some intellegent questions

Good Deal!! In ref to broadheads that work for short draws and low poundage...any COC (cut on contact) 100 gr. head will do great. I have seen really good results out of slick tricks also. I will send you some links on KE.
