I very often look at how the rear of the razor blades curl in the back. This type of design must certainly increase trauma. Has there been any reports or design studies that have been published on that type of head, I would be interested in doing more research. Thank you.

Another great day, I was able to get a hold of Crimson Talon through their business contact e-mail and further correspondence will follow using e-mails. Thanking their technical product representative for replying in a timely fashion.

i have been able to take at least 25 big game animal with there heads, mostly the talon but pretty much all of them.and the design absolutely increses trauma, the velocity in which the talon spins is amazing and it continues to do so while going through flesh.when you shoot one into a target you literally feel it twisting while it comes out.i have always told peopl you wont really appreciate these heads till you kil something with it.

I've hunted with these quite a bit in the past and had some great results, they are truly devastating.
Last year I was having some issues with getting them to tune for me and got away from them . Turns out the arrows I was using were underspined. I'll see how they fly with my current setup, if all is good I'll try to wack a doe and post up some wound pics.

Of the deer I have shot with them, I must say the spiral wound channel is nice, but not the penetration I would like on the talons anyway. The rage and ramcats have offset blades that make them spiral through the animal and create a spiral wound channel as well, just watch a ballistic gellatin test and you will see. Any broadhead that can create a spiral wound channel is going to have an edge. Nice blood trails as well.

Have you used them on any deer sized targets? I have one ready to go on my bow but I haven't had a shot yet. I hope it passes thru my window mesh accurately as I always have the window mesh down on my blinds. |
