I have guided a hunter from the USA the past week.
He used 125gr Slick Trick Std's. He blew straight trough an Eland Bull (Africa's biggest antelope) at 20 yards. How much more penetration do you need? They will do the job on any white tail deer...

I like the Mags, but really any would work. I just like the little extra cutting the mag does vs. the standard. Those dudes are accurate either way. When you can drill the middle of the bullseye from 60yds consistenly with a broadhead tipped arrow you've got something!

They blow holes thru whatever you’re shooting, plus they are pretty stout heads. I missed a wall hanger opening day at 60 yds. The buck dipped the string and arrow went right over his back into some rocky hillside brush. I went up and luckily found my arrow about 20 yards up the hillside from where the deer was. Take note this was a 60 yd shot at a 38 degree angle according to my range finder. The head was fine just needed some new blades because a couple nicks (still could have used them if needed), arrow was broke thou. But luckily head was still good it’s a tad out of round but I have no problem shooting consistent groups with it out to 40yds still.
That’s just one of the stories showing the toughness and durability of these heads. Btw I shoot the Mags in 100 gr on a Beman bone collector shaft at 28 inches. |

I was the hunter Gerhard was hunting with. The 125 Slicktrick standards penetrated like drills for me on this hunt! I posted a video of the eland hunt in the Slicktrick forum group.
Eland are as big as moose I would say the 125 grain standards have proven to me they are suitable for anything eland tough and smaller. |
