I've done a lot of research on this site with regards to which broadheads guys like and why, but in the end, it always seems like a Ford vs. Chevy argument as to which is best.
![]() I figured the best research I can do is to try them myself so..... Bow season opens here on Sept. 1st, and I have a mittful of tags this year, so I'll be testing the following broadheads: 1) Slick Trick Standard 100 gr 2) Montec 100 gr (regular - not CS) 3) Buzzcut 100 gr (2 Blade) 4) Atom 100 gr (original - not Ti) 5) Rage 100 gr (2 blade) 6) Sanford Innovations BloodShot (100 gr) - As a side note, Sanford Innovations was generous enough to add me as a registered dealer for their broadheads and I will be ordering some from them shortly. I'll be sure to post pics and all pertinent info as the arrows start flying. 44/40

I agree David - the biggest unknown in my little test is ME. I'll do my best to put the shots where they are supposed to be, but in the event of a miscue on my part, I'll be sure to include that in my overall impressions and pictures.
I'm interested to see how things work out seeing as its a 'real world' test with a lot of unknown variables. Dean

Well I have had a miserable hunting season so far this year....so far I have shot 1 whitetail doe with the Rage. I've had numerous chances to shoot some muley does, but I've been holding off for this massive buck I've been chasing all year.
I intended on posting pics, and of course my camera batteries wouldn't cooperate in the cold weather. As for the Rage itself, it blew through the doe at 17 yds on a slight angle taking 1 lung, diapraghm, and liver before exiting. Less than 100 yds before she piled up. I never did find my arrow. I was impressed overall, but I'm still suspicious if I happen to hit bone. Like I mentioned in another post, not many broadheads work well if they hit bone, but I will say the Rage does leave an awful nice hole....
