I tuned my bow for standard tricks this season they fly great I have been very happy with them but next time around I'm thinking of going with the Griz tricks or razor tricks.

Tried 100 grn standards this year, screwed one on , shot, done, exact as field points, Hunted with them, shot , passthru, stuck in ground, deer died 20 yrds later, Will say the blades needed replaced, but the accuracy, and deadliness are awesome, Good luck

that's the only "bad" side of those broadhead. I think it could be better to change the broadhead and not to change just the blades, of course after a lot of shoots Fabrizio p.s. Forigive my english!!! |

and for sure slick trick are my choice for hunting, with the G5 montec no reason to don't shoot them, when I will see they are damaged, I will use them for training.... not for hunt. 9 USD for broadhead are very good if u can be sure to carry a wild boar or a deer, or something bigger |

Last year I tried the grizz trick and killed the largest buck in 46 years of bowhunting. I was very dissapointed in the grizz trick though. I hit a perfoct broadside double lung shot from 19 yds but the broadhead did not exit the far side. Three of the 4 baldes were heavily damaged and one broke completely off. I only hit ribs, hide and soft tissue, no shoulder blade. I think the large 1.25" blades are just too much resistance for a pass thru shot on a large animal, 220 lbs. I shoot a Hoyt Tricon XT at 253 fps, 62 lbs draw wt.My buck ran 175 yds with no blood trail for the first half. I do think the slick tricks are the sharpest blade on the market and the smaller dia models would penetrate better. I have since killed 4 deer and a turkey with the wasp hammer 100 gr and another deer and turkey with the montec cs 100 gr. Both performed perfectly but I prefer the montec because of the cut on impact point and it is somewhat sharper than the wasp.

Deer I shot 20-25 yrds pass thru, died after 20 yrd run. I was using 57lb Liberty, 28 Inch beman ics hunters, 28.5 draw, 100 grn Slick Trick standard, arrow was stuck in ground a few inches, but blades were a little damaged, If setup is correct don't know how they wouldn't pass thru, but i wasnt there, and odd things do happen

Lots of great heads out there, but I would give a hard look at the Steel Force Phathead. .80 Main blades, sharp as can be, fly great, reasonably priced and free sharpening from the factory. I blew one all the way through a 700 Bull Elk this year at 47 yards. Head looks perfect and was still relatively sharp ( not hunting sharp of course).

I would personally go with the steel force sobs (swing out blades) They are the best head i have ever shot. They are durable and they are actually field point accurate. You dont get that out of fixed blade heads the swing out blades are amazing. Best design ever. I will never touch another head and you guys wont if you try them. Give Nick a call he is the owner and creator and amazing guy. The number is on there site. Dont miss out on the best head of 2010 and 2011.
