Default Is this ok ?

Im shooting 45# with a 23'' draw. I thought I would use the ol' Muzzy 3 blade 100's. The old standard. That ok for Whitetail ?

So long as you stay behind the shoulder the old Muzzy should be just fine from your setup

Thanks Cartman. Im not a believer in Mechanicals. No use crippling a deer in hopes it opens. I use what I know works. Theyll kill just as good now as they did 10 years ago. You dont have to worry if your fixed blade will open. And from what ive heard, the Muzzy is king of the broadheads.

Those Muzzy's will be fine just be sure to use enough arrow weight since your arrow speed will be low, try to stay above 400grs or more and you should be ok with most deer. Broadside, close shots and they will do the job. Good luck

Yep that will definitely increase performance and arrow speed on your bow, never can have too much, really!

The new MX-3 100gr head is about 3/16in shorter in overall length and 1/16 wider in the cutting diameter with .025 blades instead of the standard .020 blades. Not much difference for you but more of a difference for those shooting much higher arrow speeds as the shorter blades do reduce the blade surface area making them less prone to windplanning.
For you I would stay with the standard, the longer profile of the head does give it a slight penetration advantage and with limited energy you should maximize all your penetration. You could even look at our Phantom MX 100gr head, it is a short, cut on contact style head that will maximize penetration but still flies well at high arrow speeds. Good luck

Hey Doc, great broadhead choice right there. I had the pleasure of meeting Mark at the ATA show and not only will you be getting a great broadhead, you'll be getting it from a great guy.

I've got my own broadhead company, but my wife shoots Muzzy two-blade heads for her low poundage set up and they work excellent for her. Good luck to you and post pics.

Ditto. Best forum ive ever heard of. Places like archery talk are like big cities and this is like a small town. Everybody knows everybody. Unlike other forums I NEVER see arguements either. I would like to see even more reps though. Such as Rage maybe. Although I dont shoot them if they get better and better I may have to try in the future.

Muzzy's are good...IF you can find a pkg that doesn't have bent ferrles on 3 of the 6. The straight ones fly good though
