Default G5 Striker vs. Slick trick std for whitetail deer

Please, do not suggest any other fixed blade. I've tried just about everything out there with my bow and these 2 fly the best for me and my setup.

Also, I know that shot placement is more important than whichever head I choose.

So, which head do you think is better at killing whitetail deer, shortest and bloodiest trails, etc.? Price is no option, since I only need a few heads each year.

Let's hear our opinions...

New to the forum but can give an opinion on your choice of BH. I have used both and taken deer and hogs with both. With that being said, I chose the Slick Tricks. Comparing the two you mentioned I got consistently better blood trails with the ST's, shorter trails also. I started shooting the magnums and like them also, gives a little larger cut but the standards will work great.

i've handled both broadheads and i like slick trick better for 2 reasons:

1. better, more solid blade locking mechanism. on the pack of strikers i bought, every one of the three broadheads had some wiggle in at least one of the blades. i'm sure this wouldn't affect performance significantly, but it just bugged me. i've never seen so much as a slight wiggle in a blade on the slick tricks that use the alcatraz blade lock mechanism. the lockup is rock solid in my experience.

2. slick tricks are now using the high-end mercedes blades from lutz.

Slick Tricks. Not to mention that they are about $10 less per pack than G5.

I've used the Strikers and only handled the Tricks. I'd say itll be a toss up. The loose blades mentioned before I experienced in a couple. Called G5 and the sent me out two new heads.

Slick Tricks for sure...that extra blade does wonders in the tissue damage department.

I would have to go with the Tricks. The extra blade on the St mags gives it 20% more cutting surface than a 1 1/8" 3 blade. Plus as one stated above they now have probably the highest quality blade you'll find on a broadhead!!

Anyone ever use ST's on a moose? I have killed one and their hide is extremely thick.

After very extensive testing and tuning, I have decided to go with the G5 Striker 125 gr. heads (not the magnums) for this season, simple because these shoot the tightest groups and closest to my FP's, with MY SETUP. Ultimately confidence to put the BH in the right spot is the most important factor for me.
G5 Striker
Pros: Accuracy in flight, sharp blades easily sharpened or replace
Cons: MIM ferrule just not as strong as forged steel, price

Slick tricks
Pros: Great design of ferrule, point and blades, 4-blades for cutting, strong forged ferrule, price
Cons: Do not fly as consistently from my bows.

P.S. Last year I shot one doe with each blade and both had similar results.

P.P.S. Don't reply that my bow is out of tune. It isn't. By every method (paper, wralk-back, French, BH tune) it is dead-nuts on. My real world observation is that the Strikers shoot tighter groups than the ST's.

P.P.P.S My best friend shoots Std Strikers and ST Mags exactly the same. I told him without hesitation he should shoot the ST Mags.

I shot 2 deer a few years ago with strikers used the same broadhead. I resharpened it. Wich was easy. They flew great and got great penetration. Im leaning towards the slick tricks this year.
