Anyone tried the 100 gr Carbon Express XT 4 blade? I heard the heads are sharp and fly good but there has been some questions about their durability. The CE XT looks like a good head for the money but would rather get advice from someone who's used it.

To be honest the only broadhead from carbon express I take seriously is the F 15 series, especially the fixed blade. Those things are wicked. Because of the large cut out sectons in the broadhead your asking about it lacks durability where the back of the blades attach to the feral. they do break, also I dont see the need for the back edge of the blade to be sharpened, seems to be just another way to cut yourself. All the major damage is done by the tip and main cutting edges that is what is important. Remember you get what you pay for.

Thanks guys, I think I will give them a try on some hogs down here in FL before I try them on deer.
I also found a video that Sinister had posted in the Broadhead Testing forum that looked pretty good. some broadhead durability tests (videos) Sorry about all the posts. I couldn't link the vdeo until I had posted 10 times. |
