Because the blades break off when shooting them into a broadhead target. Seen it happen. Not every broadhead is going to fly the same as field points. Thats the Hot selling point that just about every mechanical broadhead company pushes.

The practice points will also let the Target last longer and not dull the blades.
Claiming they fly like field points and actually doing it are two different things. The longer profile of broadhead is what will show a poorlytuned bow with mechanical. If a bow is tuned properly, theoretically it will shoot anything the same weight to the same POI.
