I shot so far, Vortex 2.5" pro extreme 100gr, Rocket MeatSeaker 1.5" 3 blade and the GrizzTricks. That GrizzTrick by far out bled the others along with the largest wound channel. I shoot a Z7 28.5" 70lbs and sighted them in accurately out to 60yds. The first deer I shot with these heads literally, on a hard quartering shot, had the intestines blown out hanging as it ran off! Now I have Swhacker 2" in the quiver but to be honest I still think the GrizzTrick is going to bleed them out better.
Now it seems after designating the Swhacker to be my 2011 choice I have found myself intrigued by the Ramcats. In fact, they are on there way as we speak. What do you guys think will be my findings? Will the Ramcat fly as good, bleed them out as good, leave massive wound channels as compariable to the ST's & Swhackers? I am looking for a staple of a broadhead and is why I am shooting so many. The durability of the Slick Tricks was superb by the way. Any users have experience with both ST's and Ramcats? |

only used the ramcats. they will fly just like field points. only complaint was that because the blades are sharpened on both sides, the tips are very thin and can roll. didn't alter the flight in any way and they penetrated great.

Love mine. Fly like darts and I just took a 345" big bodied bull elk in CO with 2 complete passthrus at 38 and 44 yards. Bleed like crazy, but he only wnet 30 yards. This is the head that will be hard to beat in my experience. Also worked well on 5 plains game in Africa last Sept.

Not gonna argue wt my man Mudslinger. The Cats flat out shoot. But the Grizztricks make one of the most devastating holes in critter you have ever saw. I have actually had hunks of lung hanging out of the exit hole. The wound will be square as apposed to a long oval that a Rage makes. The overall damage is equally impressive at the least. Ive killed wt rage and the grizz. In my personal experiance the carnage factor win went to the Grizz. Also you will have 2-1/2 inches of linier cut. (1-1/4x1-1/4). However I am a four blade nut. If i went with a 3 it would be the Ramcat hands down. I know Mudslinger has torchered em. And he's still shootin em !

The RamCat's have been awesome this season. I started the season out by accidentally shooting the head into the end of a piece of plywood that held my target together on the top. Buried three inches into the plywood and had to cut it out with a hack saw. Nothing broke though so I sharpened the blades and went hunting. So far I have shot three deer with the same head (sharpened after each shot)........all pass thru's........all down within 30 yards........head is still good and is nocked for the next shot. I really can't ask for anything more than what these heads have done. I'm sure there are other heads that perform as well as the RamCat's but I like the convenience of never having to tune past a field point. They have been great heads for me.
