I'm looking for a 1.5" 2 blade head. All I can find is silver flame xl and hunor neo (I think). I shoot 125 grains. I like the flames but they aren't cheap and I don't like the geometry of the hunor head. Are there so e others out there that I do t know of?

Sorry....you require a 125 gr head. You are not going to find a wide head in that weight. You can also glue a screw-in broadhead adapter into a glue on head to make it a screw-in. Of course, the weight then goes up.

I am in the protoyping process with a new head right now....should be available by fall.
The head is my 165 Landshark with a bit thinner blade .042" instad of the usual .050" coupled with a lightened mandrel....one solid piece once brazed. The blade will be 1 7/8" long and available with or without locking bleeder blades. Ive already done this with the 175 gr. Tigershark but it came out to 140 grs. and will be available in a couple weeks. |

But my state laws say I must use a bh with blades that return to the ferrule with an unbroken surface. Your blades don't reconnect with the ferrule, they stop short to allow the arrow shaft to screw up in. Other states have similar laws. Do you make a bh like the landshark that would comply?. Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread here. |

I understand what you are saying but your facts are incorrect. I only make one head that is considered barbed. The Original Interceptor.....it is clearly barbed and illegal in 38 of the 50 states. Conversely, I dont sell many of those. If you look closely at my heads....you will see that all of them do return to the mandrel with an unbroken line and are in no way barbed (which is the purpose of such a nonsensical law anyway). Trust me I have had this discussion many times with various state game protectors and all have consented that the Simmons heads are not in anyway barbed....excluding the one of course.
The whole idea of setting the mandrel up inside the main blade is to increase strength by decreasing the leverage that the tip has on the head to arrow connection. Hope this helps. God Bless, Dave |
