Default Broad Head vs. Bone

I wanted to take a closer look at the trauma from when a modern b/h
meets the heavier bones of live whitetail deer from real hunting situations.
Got to look at a spine shot and an impact on front upper leg bone (humerus)

Both were shot with my 70# compound bow.
28.5 inch CX Maximas 350 arrow.
100gr. Slick Trick Magnum B/H
Arrow making about 67.5 ft.lbs. of kinetic energy.

Deer #1 North West Fla. public land, 2.5 y/o buck, 125lbs live weight was a 21 yards broadside standing still, shot from a 27 ft. tree stand.
The hit was an obvious a spine shot immediately, impact was a loud crack and the deer went down suddenly. A follow up shot was not taken form the stand because clutter on the ground. The deer seemed to expire about mid way down the tree and follow shot was not taken from the ground.
The arrow was broken off flush to the hide with 6 inches on penetration through the spine and into the liver.

Entrance side of vertebrate.

Exit side of vertebrate.

B/H orientation to wound channel in vertebra.

B/H orientation to wound channel in vertebra view from under.
The Bone was cut not fractured.

Intact recovered broad head, ferrule was fine blades were beyond my ability to resharpen them.

Basic orientation of arrow and penetration of shot.

Here he lay.
