Default Centaur Broadheads

Found these tonight. Anyone heard of them?

From their site:

Centaur broadheads are one of a kind hand crafted and are built to endure the toughest big game species in the world. These heads are engineered to perform extraordinarily in all hunting situations proven by rigorous testing during research and development. From design to selection of materials, Centaur broadheads give you unsurpassed value, quality and predictability that keep you shooting the same head, hunt after hunt. Due to contrasting perception of (Sharpness) these heads are ground to the ideal angle (shaving sharp!) and may be touched up to your liking before hunting.

Single bevel concept and orientation:

It is important that you match the bevel of broadhead with the helical of your fletch: Right bevel head to right helical fletch / left bevel head to left helical fletch. As the arrow twists in a clockwise or counter-clockwise fashion due to the helical of fletching, the broadhead will twist on impact towards the flat edge of the blade causing it to cleave its way through tissue and bone. By matching the bevel to the helical, you harness the spinning energy of the arrow shaft.

Centaur broadheads are designed to fly like a field point because of the aerodynamic features. Due to the features of this head and its wide cutting surface, you can expect massive blood trails allowing quick retrieval of an animal given a shot is well placed, the head is sharp and adequate penetration is achieved. This broadhead is a tool specifically designed for harvesting animals and therefore should be used with extreme caution and common sense. Centaur Archery will not be held responsible for the misuse of this product and/or any injury caused by intentional or accidental circumstances relating from the use of this product.

Yup, look good. Here's a wound of theirs. I've only seen a handful of people talk about them before. Looks a lot like a Land Shark to me. http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...c;f=1;t=080643

Looks like a broad head that might do the trick on our thick skinned animals...

I have the luck to know the owner/operator of Centaur. He is primarily a Bowyer by trade and makes the broadheads on the side. I shot a deer with one of the 170 gr. Big Game head. IMO, they are a great head.

Hello Shadow, welcome to BHT and thanks for joining us here. Any further info you could share on Centaur would be great. We love to hear the "inside" scoop on BH makers. Thanks again, and feel free to share your experiences.

Thank you for the welcome. I was doing some research on broadhead collecting (My new secondary addiction after hunting) when I found this site.

They do look similar to the Simmons heads but when set side by side are a quite a bit different. Both put animals down like there's no tomorrow.
The deer I shot with the BGH was a 100 lb spike buck. Shot with a Centaur (told ya he was a friend ) longbow 47@28 . I hit him broadside at about 25 yds. The arrow hit directly on a rib. Split the rib then continued through the vitals, lodged into and split a rib on the opposite side. It was a Big game head with a right hand single bevel. I have pics. But haven't figured out the posting part yet.
