Default SaberMaxx Broadheads

Anyone heard of these? Looks similar to the Razor Ring for sure. Booner, just another one to add to the shed.

"CoreMaxx is a high-quality broadhead. We formulated a custom extrusion of proprietary blended metals that have strength, flexibility, hardness and weight considerations. The ring and blade serrations have a carefully crafted pitch and are sequentially positioned to maximize penetration yet flow silently through the air providing maximum impact and the ultimate wound channel."

CoreMaxx

"SaberMaxx broadhead's patented flight stabilization design provides extreme accuracy, large wound channels, field tip-like repeatablity, and durability for all game with its tough anti-reflective appearance."

Wouldn't that ring slow down the arrow after impact and decrease penetration, or am I looking at it wrong?

I've read about the razorrings when they first came out. Some people said all they had was a big ole chunk of hair on their broadhead after a perfect broadside shot. I can believe it but bow have alot more kenetic energy now than they did when the RazorRing fist came out.........a looooong time ago, probably 10-15 years.

Pending testing and reviews, i'd say no. I just don't see them getting much penetration at all. Expesically the ones in this thread. I could be totaly wrong. I have been many times before

Those things are scary! I feel the same way about penetration as the others.
The ring reminds me of the old broadhead tuning rings that beaman had out for a while. They were a plastic ring that slid onto the back of the BH blades and directed the air across the vanes for better arrow flite.I will post a pic.of one when i get a chance.

Prob not your best bet Princess. I do think they will take a little more punch than some. You should stick with a SHARP COC head.

I'd love to smack a turkey with one but I can't imagine shooting a deer sized animal with it. I think there is too much surface area and if you hit some bone, I can't imagine it getting through even a rib shot.

I understand the concept of shooting a "plug" through tissue and organs but I can't imagine it doing well...I can't wait to see some field testing though. They are going to need some good video footage to win over the skeptics like me and not ballistic gel, I want some leg bone smack down on film.
