Lightbulb 100 gr. 3 blade Muzzy review

Here is a clip from our 2010 video of a 2 1/2 old buck that I took at 27 yards with a 100 gr Muzzy 3 blade. It only took about 10 minutes to tune these broad heads to group with my field tips. They were being shot out of an Athens Accomplice at 301 fps with X Weave arrows. On a scale of 1-5, I give them a 5 for tuning and flight. The scapula and spine were penetrated and the Muzzy stuck in the off side shoulder. When the head was retrieved it was fully intact with the only blemish being one blade had a little bend in it; so on durability I will give them a 4 out of 5. For sharpness I give them a 5 out of 5. They are some of the sharpest blades right out of the box. I would recommend these heads for 55 lb and up draw weight. In my opinion they are an excellent all around big game head from Alaska to Africa.

In this clip, it stopped uploading at the 10 minute mark, so we were unable to upload the last 5 minutes of the clip. Guess you will have to check out the DVD coming this year!!! The pictures below are the scapula and vertebrae of this deer from this clip.

Happy Blood Trails

When is your dvd coming out??

I love the 3 blade Muzzys. Never had a single problem with them. I had thought back in September that they didn't fly worth a crap out of my Accomplice with the higher speeds, but it was the arrow spine not the head.

No need to they were designed to fly better out of fast bows and if you take just a few minutes you can have the old 100 tuned just fine and are cheaper.

In the next couple of months I have a ton of footage to go thru yet and seem to have lost some that I need to find.

I take it that by saying, "I have a ton of footage" that your season was a huge success. Congrats to you and the Team. Can't wait to see the DVD.

Cool, let us know when the dvd comes out.

I thought the MX had a 1 1/4" cutting diameter too? You'd get a whole 1/16" upgrade! Ok, I see why you stuck with the standard LOL.

We took 9 bucks in Mich and 2 doe's and my Texas staff took 3 bucks so far the 3 in Texas were shot by 2 little boys I think they are 6 years old and 10 years old the older boy took 2 with a bow the 6 year old took one with a gun I have not seen the footage yet.

I tried the MX3's last year and went back to the standard Muzzy. I couldn't get them to fly as good. I don't know why either. I was bragging them up at deer camp and a friend said lets compare the flights I'll shoot my standard Muzzy's and you shoot the MX3's. We di and his groups were tight and mine weren't so tight ( infact I had better groups at home practicing) I was dumb founded, we'll since we shoot the same arrows and lenghts and spine we swaped arrows and I grouped better with his and his group was just like mine was the first round. So we figured it was the heads. I unscrewed them and put my old Muzzy 3 blades on and we did it again and both our groups were great!! So that's what I kept on my arrows the rest the hunt!! I expected better performance out of the MX3's than I ended up getting. So ya I'm a bit dissapointed!!

Muzzy is the only way to go. They aren't only one of the best broadheads out there but they are a good deal also.
