Default Magnus Buzzcuts - Little problem tuning

Has anybody else had a problem with getting magnus buzzcuts to fly well with their set up? I was shooting an Athens Accomplice at 26 inches and 60 lbs with a carbon express 250 with 6 inch wrap and 3 inch fusions. I just couldn't quite get them to consistantly group well.

I tried both 100 grain and 85 grain heads. My groups are good with field points. I even tried shooting some field points and then broadheads and adjusting my rest to bring them together. This helped a little, but not as good as I would like.

Anybody have similar experience with these heads?

Have you spun your arrows and checked insert facing? Possibly fletch contact thats showing up with fixed blades?

I used the G5 arrow squaring tool and then spun them. Everything appeared to be okay. As far as I can tell there is no fletching contact.

I am thinking that my bow may be out of tune just a hair or the rest needs adjusting just a little more.

Either adjustment or some type of disturbance. Hows the nock fit on the center serving?

It sounds like something other than the heads. I've shot these for a few years now (85gr), and they are one of the most accurate heads out there. JMHO.

Maybe try them without the 6" wraps. Just a suggestion.

One of the easiest fixed heads to tune. I have had great luck with the 100g 2-blade. I glue my inserts to perfection by spinning a Snuffer SS and never have to double check the spin with the Buzzcut....I already know its perfect after the SS. They will cut vanes off of the field point arrows already in the target at 60 yards.

Not sure if this is the issue, but what arrow/spine are you shooting? Also, what length is your arrow? I'm wondering if your spine is either too weak or too stiff.

I tried them with both carbon express maxima 250s and with easton axis 500s. I will have to get back to you on the length. I can't remember the exact length of the top of my head right now.

Was having issues last year with another fixed head and found out I was a little underspined causing arrows to hit right. I bought some buzzcuts about the same time I found this out but boy they really shoot good. Well made and with the lifetime guarantee cant be beat. I dont think I would send one in except for breakage or if one ever bent but the fact that I can is a real deciding factor.

Mine have always flown awesome...but there is always an exception. I would def check your spine and bow. Your right, you may be out just a hair. Then again you may have gotten a bad batch of heads...machines mess up now and then.

Never had tuning problems whatsoever with this head
Check your bow's center shot.

Not sure if you have fixed this problem yet. But if it I were with you trying to fix the problem, I'd start from scratch.

First, I'd check your bow to see if it is in spec. So, I'd check your ATA, brace height, timing of the cams to the bow, and the timing of the cams to one another. If any of those are off then you're going to have problems..

Second, Id' go and have you paper tune the bow with FPs till you're getting near perfect bullet holes.

Third, I'd have you walkback tune the bow from a minimum of 10, 20, and 30 yds. This will help to fine tune how your rest is setup for left/right orientation.

Lastly, I'd go and try your BHs. And if necessary, make additional adjustments to your rest so that your FPs are hitting the same as your BHs. If you still can't dial it in, then I would assume you're spine is off.

I had problems tuning my bow for bout 3 months. Shot stinger 2 blades and they grouped well, but to the right. Got OT2 and found out that my spine was borderline too light. Shortened my shafts ande had to yoke tune, but now I'm shooting wonderful. You might want to check arrow spine and cam lean.
