Did anyone ever come out with a general type camouflage pattern that fits almost anywhere? We have lots of black spruce, larch, poplar and some birch. I am looking for a camouflage pattern that would fit nicely with our bush environment.
Again, thanking you for your help ![]() SB |

Personally I think all of the specialized camo patterns are way overrated. Instead, choose any of them and keep your movement to a minimum and you'll be fine.

I think the ASAT is great. We did a test many years ago where my friend went in different surroundings and held up other kinds of camo on a hanger in one hand and the ASAT in the other. The ASAT was always the hardest to pick out no matter what. When you see it all by itself it doesn't look like it would work, but in almost any kind of background it just breaks up and blends in.

This morning, I was reading about how blaze orange can't be seen by deer however was highly effecient in preventing hunting accidents. Since we bowhunt, then I gather its the patern type that breaks up your silhouette in a tree and or ground, right and not really the colour?
When I seen that, it compared to the army using digital camouflage pattern. And boy did I ever look at many camo patters, and finally, I seen that ASAT would best fit the NWT. An then there's UV light !!!!!!! Oh my, this is getting to be a in depth field of study Its fun knowing your learning something new every day of your life, I like it !!!!!! ![]() ![]()

Of course, I will say that the whole UV thing does intrigue me as if it's true, it would explain some of the oddities that I perceive to be happening. You know that whole, deer looks up at you as if it knows you're there thing. I might just have to try that Atsko UV killer as an experiment and see if it makes a difference. David

I hear you David, Atsko UV Killer is on my list to get. I've had the same thing happen to me with black bears although I think they do that just to check to see if there's someone in the stand or not which is why, on very large weary bears, we will add a decoy stand with our scent to get the bear thinking we are there but in fact we are 12 yards the other way at FULL DRAW !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun stuff !!Have a great day and I wish you all the best this season........9 sleeps to go here

Natural gear has caught my eye. I've heard great things about ASAT from some friends. It hard to tell what any camo looks like to a deer. Thats the problem. But I have notice a leafy suit and face mass works wonders.

This year I went with a set of Multi-Cam military camo. It's a cotton / polly blend but I hunt close to home so if I get wet and cold I can always get out of the woods quick. I washed my new set with my older Realtree / Mossy Oak stuff and hung them on the line. I walked back about 30 yards and what a difference it was. The photo-realistic camo was just a dark blob. The Multi-Cam seems like it will work well and it did not cost me much.

I am a huge fan of Predator myself, and then again, I don't have a gripe against ASAT. But, either of these are so versatile, and to be honest, due to the open pattern, I tend to believe that deer cannot focus on it due to personal experience. I could be completely wrong, but I swear the depth throws them off.
