Default Lighted Nocks

Guys,

What brand of lighted nocks do you prefer?

I have played with quite a few different brands.

Some work great some not so great.

I would like to hear what works for you and why?

Here is my review !

I have tried them ALL !

The Firenock :
are the Most expensive and they light up every shot
Problem is turning them off you have to drop them on something hard ! in the woods bang them on a tree you get bark in the nock groove !
Bang them on your new bow ? Don't think so !

Lumenock :
the prongs are broken very easily and they are not very
consistant on lighting up !

Tracer Nock :
Always had problems loosing the Magnet !

Nockturnal :
is what I shoot now . Always light up and is the cheapest !
Also they only weigh 20 grains .

Do Yourself a favor and try the Nocturnals FIRST !

I can't speak for the Nockturnals, but the Firenocks are bulletproof.

Well, before we moved to Idaho, lighted nocks are not legal here, I was using the Firenocks, love them, and they come in pink

Looks like we will be moving to Colorado in June of 2011 so I will be keeping my Firenocks safe to use when we get there.

Lumenoks......never had a bad one. Tracers......that magnet is just a lost cause. It took me at least 10 minutes to figure out how to activate them. I'm going to keep pumping lumenoks.

I have used Tracer Nocks and the magnet problem was easy to fix with a bit of super glue.

The problem is that the nocks battery runs out with out you knowing and you can not replace the battery.

When they work they work every time.

I am now shooting the lighted nock by carbon express.

So far I am happy with the results ...

I have tried lighted nocks here in the Northwest Territories and it doesn't solve our main problem, Caribou lichen, reindeer moss etc..... I would like to have one that beeps...LOL I've lost more arrows than I can shake a stick at. I know the guy that is buying the lot next to me might as well start shooting a bow and arrow because he's set for life with arrows Its not that bad but a metal detector is prime up here.

Have a great day Gerhard and keep posting those great pics !!! I will try and do the same with the game I get this year, following your recommendations

Daniel

Just get yourself some Nocturnal's....after shooting them every day since January with the exception of a recent trip out of state....they simply are ruggedly simple, reliable, lite weight, don't rattle at the shot in the shaft and work every single time and definitely don't mess up your FOC as much like all others.... And having left one turned on and set on my trucks dash...it's still lit after a full week in the hot Texas sun! Can't beat em regardless of the marketing/claim of others...and I've shot / used all others due to filming our hunts showing our broadheads in flight/pass thru critters...all others have failed in some manner...usually at that critical moment we need it the most to work! And why I immediatly got some Nocturnals at the ATA trade show when I found out about them to test. And they pass my test!

I have seen the Nockturnals in action the past week.

On the Eland the back part of the arrow broke off in the animal after the broad head passed through the animal.

After skinning the animal we walked to the skinning shed 2 hours after shot we found the nock still burning brightly...

Big buckarroo...Yep...I've shot them all....save your money and time...just get Nocturnals and you'll not endure the problems we've been faced with using the others....

Steve, let me know how these work out for you. I am interested in giving them a try, just to make a comparison and possibly a switch.
