Standing Bear will become famous soon enough
Default Backpack of choice

I wil need a back pack very soon and having to pack meat long distances, I was seriously looking at the pack Magnus carries. Looks simple enough to use and let me tell you, I've packed a moose out with another guy using simple handle bags and it nearly killed me.

What do you use and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Thanking you in advance for your help.

Daniel

I can't speak from personal experience about a pack in which you're probably looking for. I do own the Badlands Diablo pack and all Badlands packs are phenominal!
I have heard a lot of great things about the Badlands 2200 pack which I believe might be right up your alley so you might want to check them out. They have great reviews and they have videos on their sight explaining and showing the 2200.
Hope this helps!

in my experience it doesnt really matter if its a pack made exactly for hunting. the pack i use now is a dakine biking backpack. its light wieght and holds my stuff nice and tight to my back.

the two questions i ask myself when picking a backpack is

1. will it hold my stuff and will it hold it close enough to my back that i wont be catching it on differents things while out in the field.

2. is it comfortable and light enough for me. i use my biking backpack because of this fact. but i am still in the market for a Badlands pack when i get the money.

but i would definitely go to a store and just try on different packs. look them over tooth and nail and make sure they work for you. everyone is different and thats why theres just some many styles out there. my dad likes the badland packs to but doesnt like how they feel on his back, where i love how they feel. just like i dont like his cabelas pack frame backpack but he loves it. its all a matter of choice and getting out there and looking at the different packs.

good luck in your search

I've been using a badlands 2800 for three years. Man I love that pack
but most importantly I love badlands customer service. Every year I
send that thing to hell & back. Regardless they have sent me some
small parts, handful of buckles, & repaired a few spots I ripped. No questions
asked. They by far have the best warranty in the industry.

As a example here's how I often carry this pack. I usually have my
miscellaneous stuff in the back but here's where it gets good. There's
been several times where I use the batwings & strap a 50lb bag of
corn in it. I use a lone wolf assualt that I strap 5 summit buck steps
to. Having those locked together I use the batwing straps to interlace
the stand w/steps & tighten it down as tight as possible.

The balance & security of that pack is nice. I backpack/hike a good
bit so I'm also comparing it to my Osprey's. I can lean around & have
a very minimal sway i the pack. It's good enough I can keep from
making noise, climb over stuff, go up & down hills no problem & even
squat & stand w/the pack staying balanced.

The built in holsters a bonus also!

If I had it all to do again or buy another it would defiantly be the 4500.

I picked up a 2200 and its perfect for me. I primarily bow hunt the midwest and its the most durrable pack ive used. I personally dont need anything bigger than the 2200 for what i do. But whatever fits you best, i guarantee badlands makes it.

Hey Bear. Not to push Badlands, but have you ever read the warranty?
Makes me laugh every time I read it. At first I thought it was probably
a gimmick, but I've put it to the test & they give no quarter to there
warranty & keep their word. Wish I could find more products w/warranties
like that.

If you've read it, then maybe others haven't:
