Excellent post and incredible job on showing how much meat a deer will produce when properly butchered.

Archer,

I used your method and I can say without a doubt I got more meat than I usually do. I killed a buck yesterday today I cut up everything except the hind quarters and I have twice as much burger and jerky meat and my steaks look much better. Thanks for the info.

That's awesome. I wish I would have had that when I was dressing my first deer. I am a self learned hunter so I was flying solo haha.

Great post and great jobs with the pics. It helps with understanding the steps. It really is incredible how much meat a deer can produce.

Thumbs up Archer! I was a butcher for 9 years before starting my current career, and I must say that's probably the best pictoral I have ever seen. Well done.

Very well thought out.
Creating this post may seem easier than it really was.
It's a lot of tedious work.
I'm not sure a video would have done much better
at explaining your whole process.
Good Job!

Extaordinary!!!!!!

Thats one of the most usefull and complete information that i ever met in the net.

One of the best things with the kids is the continuacion of family tradicion.
The proper processing of game and proper cooking is the last respect that we do to our captures and a very importatnt part of their formacion as men(in my opinion of course).
Its a natural school of respect about animals(game or not)food and enviroment.
I have a kid with 6 years its a nice kid but very diferent that what i was with is age(time changes).
With is age my father teach me to shoot with a rifle with him i cannot his only interest in hunting is the killing,i hope he changes(at least im working on it).
I insist whith him that is a big diference between a hunter and a killer, time will say if i will "win".
