I use the trueflight method as well and it has done very well for me.

Trying to make a 6 fletch flu-flu? Get full length feathers, cut them to 5 inches. Leave them full width. Turn your fletcher's knob till the index mark is up, fletch 3 feathers, when done, remove arrow and turn it 180 degrees and fletch 3 more feathers. I usually use the heavier 'base' end first and the 2nd cut for the second set of feathers. This arrow will fly about 30-40 yds. You can also use precut feathers, but will get longer flight. Have I helped ?

I've used both methods (6 fletch and spiral) and prefer the spiral because they seem to stop arrows faster and require fewer feathers. I use feathers from turkeys I shhot and just strip the quill and use fletch tape with a bit of super glue on either end. Works great for me.
