Wel I use a mineral block usually covered in buckjam, i also added a small watering hole and often use acorn rage. It may be overkill but i really want the deer on my property not the neighbors. Id plant a food plot, but don't have the necessary equipment. So i just feed, water, and mineral the crap out of them and hope they pose real pretty for my camera.

My buddy uses sweet feed that he uses for his horses. Deer love it.

There are several "throw and grow" food plot mixes, ground prep is just a steel rake, strip the ground of cover, and add a mix of lime, fertilizer, and your throw and grow, early in spring. Also you might try alfalfa, deer love it. If allowed in your state, your local Feed store carries Deer Blocks, a corn and molassas block that they love. And of course there's "Come here Deer".

I use the corn and mollasses blocks then pour corn flavored buck jam all around it . I use acorn rage instead of come here deer though.
