Default What do you feel is an appropriate price to pay for a hunt?

We are talking for trophy white-tails. I'm curious how people feel about the pricing for hunts and paying for a hunt in general.

You might want to clarify your question. Are you paying to hunt on private property? On you paying to hunt on a deer farm? Are you paying to hunt with a professional guide? Are you paying for a guided hunt where all accomodations are provided?

Personally, I cannot afford to pay somebody to do any of that. For instance, I have a Pronghorn Antelope tag. So far it has cost me fuel for a trip to scope out a water hole about $120.00. Fuel to set up a blind at the water hole, about $120.00. I spent about $40.00 for food for the two trips. Plus the cost of the tag along with application fees which come to $110. Total to date: $390.00 My hunt starts in two weeks, with any luck at all I'll have only one more trip at a cost of around $120.00. I might get about 50 pounds of meat, so my cost per pound will be around 10.20/LB. Nope I can't afford to pay for a hunt!

Open range, no fence, semi guided, on managed trophy land. Managed land meaning food plots with a herd management process in effect. Basically all scouting will be done for the customer and topographical maps provided. option on weather to pick your own stand location, or be put up in an established stand location. Bow hunting only.
