We have no regulation and we need one. We can take up to 9 per season with 5 of them being antlered deer. We still have doe tags that can be bought through the DNR(5), and they must be used on a doe on any day but Saturday. South Carolina really needs to work its deal out with the number of does harvested vs. number of bucks. Here, the number of bucks harvested routinely outweigh the number of does.

I'm having difficulty understanding how more Bucks are being harvested than does in SC. Is it because there are more Bucks than does? Or just alot of trophy hunters? Or is it because SC has a massive whitetail problem with overpopulation?? The amount of Does I observe versus the number of Bucks observed has to be at least 20 to 1 where I hunt in PA. That doesn't mean that there are not more Bucks, they are just not that easy to get on. We need to cull more does but they are not easy to thin out in the urban areas.

No kidding. Trouble is getting up on them when they are in someone's backyard. I was at a friends house (chilling not hunting) this afternoon when 2 doe and a buck came right up to their patio, the buck was trying to get up on the doe. I walked out side within 20 feet of them and they didn't even flinch. Can't shoot em because the houses are too close, and I swear they know it. Coulda practically stabbed them with a bowie knife thats how close they were.

In AL you can kill three buck's a year...two of any size and one has to be four or better on one side that are 1" or longer. You can kill two doe's a day the whole season...you can only kill two per day though. Either two doe's or a buck and a doe you can't kill two buck's in the same day. The land I hunt on goes off of GA rules so we can kill two buck's one of which has to have four or more on one side that are 1" or better and ten doe's.
