Default Mule Deer Hunt this weekend!

This weekend is my first Mule Deer Archery hunt with a bow that can actually get the job done. This year I have the right equipment and a tag for a Mule Deer Buck. I tried back in the 80's but wasn't properly prepared; now I have a great bow and many, many hours of practice under my belt.

Here's my scenario; I have an area of about 200 square miles, that will have 10 archery hunters. Most of them will go to Peterson Mountain, because it is purported to have some of the largest mule deer in Nevada. The rut is in full swing, too. Would you hunt this same mountain or go where there might be less pressure?

Here's a thought if most of the hunters are going to this mountain, I'm guessing most of the hunters will approach the mountain in generally the same direction. So provided the wind and thermals will cooperate why not try to get around behind the deer so the other hunters push them to you?

I am going where the deer are and will try to use other hunters to help locate moving deer that they kick out of there beds. It's going to be down around zero in the morning and around freezing mid-day...should be good hunting!
