What I am shooting right now, the 100 grain Smoke Ramcat. 90% of a good blood trail is where you hit the animal. You can put one right behind the crease and center punch the heart and get a complete pass thru, but as that animal moves and runs, he is closing the entrance and exit holes with the shoulders/skin and muscle. A multi blade head tends to leave a better blood trail than a 2 blade in my opinion. The whole truth is, shoot what you have confidence in and put it in the right place and the blood will flow. there are exceptions, I have hit animals and watch them fall and still not have a blood trail, but dead is dead. Lots of variables can affect a blood trail.

I like the striker magnum...i had a decent but not so great shot and a blind man could have found the deer. But everyone might tell you something different, you have to do you.

Generally a big, razor sharp 4bl head will typically give the best blood trails, but it is very dependent on entry and exit points as well as what is hit also.
3bl heads would be next followed by a 2bl head. Thus I am and have always been a big believer in big 4bl heads for my hunting.

Blood trails have a lot less to do with the head you use and a lot more to do with where you put it. You could shoot three deer in the same exact spot with the same exact head and have different levels off blood to follow on each. All sorts of things can play a part in how much blood is on the ground. One thing that is certain though if you put a sharp head through lungs/heart they ain't going far! Just pick a head that flies good and is sharp then do your part.

agreed, also, it's not always the biggest wide cut that leaves the most blood, more about the placement.

If you make a good shot you don't need a blood trail. No matter what head you use, practice until you are confident that you can put your arrow where you want it, time after time. If you cannot become consistent, you probably have equipment or form issues...
