Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to shoot several broadheads. One being the swhacker, Red Head Black out fixed blade series (hellrazor and striker mimic), Crimson Talons, Hellrazor, Thunderhead's, Hammerheads and Spitfires. All were shot at 40 yards at a big hard plastic pot yielding a big pumpkin inside backed with a target. I was surprised at the outcome really. I am shooting a PSE Fireflite 33 with a 421 grain Carbon Express Pile Driver Hunter 350 at around 286 FPS. All measurements where rounded to the nearest quarter. The Swhacker, Hellrazor, and the Blackout Hellrazor all blew through the pot and pumpkin and the arrow was half way through the target. Thunderhead had 12 1/4 inches penetration into the target. Talons had 12 inches of penetration and left a nasty hole in the pot and pumpkin. The blackout striker mimic had 12 inches penetration. Both mechanicals where pretty close with 9 3/4 and 9 1/2 inches penetration and left brutal holes in the pot and pumpkin. At 60 yards I found that the Swhacker had the best flight close to the hellrazor and its blackout clone and the blackout striker mimic. The Talon was 1 inch right and 2 1/2 inches low. The Thunderhead was dead even but 1 inch low. The Hammer head was actually dead even but 2 inches right with the Spitfire was 1 inch low and 1 3/4 inches left. Now I am giving these measurements from a 5 inch circle and thats how far out of the circle they were at 60. Normally I can put 4 sometimes 3 in this circle at 60 with Field Points. Just thought I would post my experiences and be happy to say I will be carrying Swhackers, Talons, and Hellrazors with me in the woods this fall for further testing

Great writeup. A lot of people laugh at the Swacker (old Sonoran) because of who promotes/owns it now, butg that head has been around for a long time and it has killed a lot of animals, especially some monster elk in Arizona where the head was developed by Rick Forrest. I have used them and had some devestating holes and results.
