I was bored and itching to shoot the Horton Ultralite Crossbow. Anyhow, I wanted to accuracy test the new NAP FOC 170 grain broadhead versus the Grim Reaper 2" Whitetail 100 grain. I used a 100 gr field tip, 170 gr field tip that came with the FOC, and the grim reaper 100 gr practice tip. I wanted also to see if there was a significant difference in target strike between 100 gr and 170 gr tip. (see pic Below)
![]() The next picture is the actual target. I have a 3 dot red dot scope with top dot sited at 20 yds and middle dot sited at 40 yds. As you can see the 100 gr grim reaper was on the money both times, shooting even more accurately than a plain 100 gr field tip. At 20 yds the FOC 170 gr field tip went right where I was aiming, but at 40 yds it was a little low and to the right. ![]() I was surprised that the grim reaper practice tip was more accurate than a 100 grain field tip. ANd also, I can shoot either the FOC or grim reaper inside 20 yards without changing my scope. Hopefully, I'll get a shot in the late season after Christmas. |

The FOC is certainly heavier at 170 grains compared to the 100 grain grim reapers. But I wanted to see the point of impact both had without changing my scope. Interestingly enough, they both hit at the same POI at 20 yards, and I don't see significant drop until 40 yards. So....... At a close range shot I can use either one.
