Hi there.
Santa just gave me my first grim reaper broadheads. Just out of the box, on the very first shot, it didn't flew that great. What happened? The target hole showed that one of the blades just opened on flight. Shot it a couple more times and the same happened. Tried another broadhead and it was fine. Is it a defect or some kind of spring or internal part tuning? When I open the blades, 2 just click back, but the third doesn't hold in that position. Can you help me? I will be glad to help you out. There are a couple things that could cause uneven blade tension. First think i suggest to all GR users is after you install the broadheads, open each blade by hand and make sure the blades open smooth and click back closed. If one blade is not clicking back closed like you said then it is most likely as Whitetail assasin mentioned. Make sure the retaining ring holding the blades is in the proper position. The gap in the ring must line up with the post that is machined into the body of the broadhead. Second, look at the notch ring. This is the little ring that sits between the spring and the blades. Make sure the butted end of this ring is not lined up right behind one of the blades. If these two things do not solve your problem please just contact us here at GR and we will either send you new parts or replace the head for you. We stand behind our broadheads 100%!
