Just found of 6 pack Magnus 100 grain (MA100s0) 2 blade one piece carbon steel broadheads. Traditional style, painted black. Anyhow, they are not that sharp out of the pack. Package says they need light honing. ANy recommendations on sharpening?? Thanks.

I usually use first a file, a bastard one, to made the heavy work (use it if you do not have the edge)
then I use a piece of wood I glued sand paper 600 grit (or I use a diamond stone) then 1200 grit stone (or paper) then honing the edge on the back side of a piece of leather with a bit of 3M Marine Imperial polish cream (it is abrasive cream). be carefull, the leather just have one way to be used, passing your finger on the leather you will be able to find the right way, it is the way the finger "does not grip". I hope I helped you !!!! |
