Give the NAP 2 or 3 blade bloodrunner a try. They are expandables but they work differently from the reapers or rage. The way they are designed they don't have to fold out like others. Pressure on the tip causes the blades to flare out to 2 1/16 inch cut. With the way they are designed I don't see how they could fail. As far as durability they were great.

I have used muzzy, rage and now swhacker. The muzzys work good but I like to shoot some longer distances since there isn't a lot of trees in some places I hunt here so long distances are the norm, and a mechanical I can hold a better group with I feel. Rages they work great but I haven't hit any major bone with them so I don't know how they will hold up and the blades dull fast. But I just bought a swhacker sharpener and it works awesome on any broadhead blade and knife. So I can fix the rage's dullness. The swhacker I just recently used on an antelope. It was a 30 yard shot and wasn't the best shot but my arrow went through and exited out the back right leg after it had split the femor bone in half. I never did find the arrow so I couldn't tell you what the broadhead looked like. But I can guess what it looked like. From what I have seen swhackers are built like a tank as long as the blades are closed. But if they are open and hit something solid the body smashes down in the middle and the blades will no longer close so you can't just replace the blades and reuse it. But that is just what I have seen so far with the swhacker.

First, thank you for your service to our country.
I recently bought Grim Reaper Razor tips after talking mechanicals with the owner of a not so local pro shop. I had been using Muzzy MX3 but wanted a larger wound channel due to flooding in an area where I hunt. A week after purchase I shot a deer with the GRs, 1 3/8 100 grain model. True to advertisement I watched the deer drop. But to be honest a very well placed shot with any quality broadhead will do that. The shot went through the upper rib cage through the heart and exited out the lower rib cage. The blades were closed when I found the arrow. This concerned me. I sent an email to GR and received a very prompt response explaining and containing a link to demo videos where the same phenomena occurred. The head did deploy the blades as advertised, the resource who replied instructed me to look at the cups for blade contact, which there was. The head also looked new, no blades bent or twisted . It is on an arrow in my quiver now. I would not hesitate to use it on another deer. I am overall very impressed with GR as a head and as a company. Anyone who stands behind their product with great customer service, made in USA and as durable as it is, has a happy customer on its hands. I would recommend them to you without hesitation. Good luck. Regards, John |

I shot a deer with the 1 3/8 grim reaper was really dark out shot was like 4 yards basically straight down I couldnt see pin well. I hit him right where the tear duct for the eye starts threw his left eye out the back of his head into his back quartering down word exiting the gut area. The broadhead looked perfect put new blades in it used it again to kill another doe.I shot the 2 inch reapers threw the ribs of a doe. with same results new blades and ready to go. These deer where shot with 62 pounds 29 inch draw and 374 gr arrow

I quit using Rage 2 blade after a poor penetration on a not so great shot. Switched to Grim Reaper 2 inch, but haven't had opportunity to close the deal yet. Working hard, gonna catch a break soon I hope. I was chasing a flock of Turkey tonight in Western PA!! That was fun, but tough to close in and seal the deal.

This is a 35+ yard shot after blowing threw the right shoulder... The head was undamaged it was buired up about 6 inches in the ground and after cleanling and a touch up on the blades its back in my quiver.

First off, I think mechanicals are great, but I think a fixed broad-head with a tuned bow will get the deed done without any question. I shoot 4 blade Muzzy 100 grain broad-heads and because of their low profile, they shoot like field tips.
I do want to mention that i just purchased the new SaberMaxx fixed blade broad heads and harvested a nice buck last week here in New York. The blood trail was devastating due to 3 blades surrounded by a razor ring that cuts out a thumb hole size wound. Which acts like a stabilizer itself. I sound like a good advertiser for the product, but Guy's and Gals, look into these. There great. - Guy |

I just shot a deer at a quartering frontal shot. I put the swhacker just behind the front right shoulder and got a complete pass through to the back left hind quarter. Amazing damage! deer went 30 yrds and piled up. I've always used fixed heads and made the switch this year and won't be going back. My buddy is using grim reapers and had similar results. These are the only two I have feedback on. My vote is for the swhacker, one word--devastating!
