So the new but expensive titanium came out & I haven't heard much about
them yet. Most likely because of the price. So, has anyone bought or used the new ones yet. I'd like to here some opinions on the old vs. new. Is there any big advantages? The TI looks really nice, just can't get over the price. I'm really wondering if the tip is a big improvement. With the smaller diameter it looks like it would penetrate & hold up a little better. Also, are the blades the same or are they any sharper? Looking forward to a member posting up some harvest's results & if there's really any big difference.

Have found a better price on E-Bay ! 2 packs for $140.00 or 1 pack for $69.99 Wonder if the slim diameter will keep the large cut open , or will the slits want to close back up and not give that " Red River " blood trail ???? to Last edited by top dog rick; 09-06-2010 at 09:26 PM. |

I definitely think the biggest part of people not talking about them is the price. I don't know why they made it stronger I never herd complaints of it breaking, but I have herd several times of penetration issues. I personally would have liked to see a complete tip redesign to allow for better penetration.

Personally, I don't know why anyone would go with the titanium ones. Too expensive; for that price you could buy Silverflames which are 10x better IMO. Also, titanium is more brittle than steel. Lastly, unless you are resharpening them which most folks don't do with mechanicals, any benefits you might get are disposed of. David

I don't see the cutting diameter being the penetration issue with the rage. Most three blades have more cutting area. It's all in the tip design.
I say go to steel furrel and not the gimmick of titanium and put the trocar from the Rocky XP3 and that would potentially be a nasty head.

Why do we have to settle for 1.5 and 2 inch cutting diameter? Would rather see them at 1.75 cut with new tip design and SS ferule
Problem solved lol

So no one owns them yet? Guess we're still waiting on a price drop.
