Default Rage 40KE 2 blade Question?

I've shot rage for a few years and I've shot the regular 2 blade and have had a problem with penitration. I shoot a Hoyt Alphamax 35 set at 68# 29" draw. I was wonderin if it would be possible to shoot the 40KE out of my set up pushin way over 40 ft lbs of energy. Would the broadhead function properly? Rage says its designed for short draw or low poundage and I'm neither of those two things. Or would it be better to just shoot the three blade? I haven't lost an animal but have yet to have a full pass through. Rage also states the 40KE can also be used for larger frame game like elk or moose. Any feedback would be great. I just figured a 1.5 inch 2 blade would penitrate a lil better and should still leave a great blood trail.

My advice would be to switch to a different broadhead like grim reaper or g5..

Tryed the G5 T3 last year too not too impressed with it and not a big fan of over the top mechanicals. I just like the design and flight of the rage and have never had a problem besides not havin a full pass through. But thanks for the advice.... keep um commin!!!

Thanks for the feed back bud. I think I've made up my mind and I'm just gonna try a different head out.

Default Rage 40KE Head

I use the Rage 40KE head out of a 24.5" Draw at 50 pounds and get complete pass throughs. If I were you I would go tot the Rage 40KE head. Its an awesome head

Sounds to me like your bow is out of tune! I shoot 60lbs at 28" draw and have had nothing but pass throughs with Rage. If your arrow is not flying true it will cause penetration issues with any broadhead. Try shooting through paper at various distances and see if you get bullethole tears.
