I have never tried them, but they look like they would be awesome. They have the cut on contact tip with the expandable blades. I saw a picture of an entry wound somewhere and it was huge. Has anybody used these? If so how did you like them?

I have never personally used them but they always seem to get good reviews from independent tests & the people that use them. If memory serves that picture of the monster hole left by one was on ArcheryTalk.

I think you are right, I knew I saw it on one of the bowhunting forums. If I'm not mistaken the title was 5 blade mechanical or something to that effect.

Is that the First cut that they have for sale on broadheadshed.com. I was looking at them they seem to be a well made head.

I looked on Broadheadshed the Firstcut heads on there are different than the Eastman First Cut broadheads I am talking about. The Eastmans are an expandable head with a cut on contact 2 blade head in the front with 3 exspandable blades behind it. I havn't seen them for a while I am not sure if they still make them?

I know that Eastman does not always get the best of reviews or they do not have the "over the top" name, but I have read many good reviews on this head and have thought about buying a pack myself

It seems like for the money they are probably a good deal. My local archery shop has one pack of them for $16 it looks like they have been hanging there for a while, I think I'll buy them and try them out. If I do I'll let everybody know, I have one doe tag left If I can brave the cold I might get a shot.

The Blades with COC and three expanding blades are not Eastman/Carbon Express heads. They are Rocket Buckblaster's. The First Cut EXP's have two expanding blades. I have used these and they have performed well on medium sized deer. The only weakness I see is that the ferrule is pretty long and tends to bend. The design is excellent I think. The expanding blades are far rearward which allows goos penetration before the expanding blades are employed. This prevents jack knifing.
