Default TruFire Switchblade

I've been seeing the commercial for this particular mechanical broadhead on the Outdoor Channel lately. Is anyone shooting this broadhead or have any experience with it.

"Upon contact with the target the tip is pushed in deploying and locking the blades into place before the broadhead penetrates the target. Giving you maximum cutting diameter on the entry hole as well as the exit hole. The SwitchBlade's rear deploying blades won't deflect angled shots. To re-set the SwitchBlade to the closed position simply pull the tip back out. Over 1 3/8" cutting diameter! 3-blade."

I'd like to see some reviews on this. My concern, as with most mechanicals is of course, reliability.

I havent shot the switch blade, but I have shot the Meat seeker by trophy Ridge. It is very similar in deployment. The meat seeker is a little hard to get the rubber band on but functioned really well and the blades were stronger than they appeared to be.

A hunting buddy of mine shoots these and swears by them. He claims that they've worked flawlessly on every animal he has shot with them, including wild hogs.

I like the piston idea. It is force against force. Unless the blades are locked up they are going to open. Pick up a set BBD and give us a review.

Haven't tried one yet. Talked with 2 switchblade users that had good results, and liked the head, on hogs and deer.

I have shot the meat seeker, which is similar. Very poor blade construction and hard to put the rubber band on. they flew really well and deployed....need a serious re-vamp on the blades.

They are a good head.....provided you don't hit bone. I have never personally shot them but know a few people that absolutely mangled them from simple rib hits

Ryan - you need to have a least 10 posts to be allowed to post pics. Thanks for sending the pic of the Trufire Switchblade entry hole.

Here is Ryan's pic which he was referring to. Looks like a pretty mean hole.

Two choices, crank up the posts to get to 10, or email the other pics over and I'll blast em' up here. No worries.

Start a thread in the Welcome section too, that's a good way to get a few posts in, and it also gives us the opportunity to get to know who you are a bit. Thanks.
