I personally have not seen but 2 mishaps from rage 2 blades over the last two years. Most of the guys I film shoot them and out of maybe 60 kills over the last two years I have only seen the two problems. I don't see as many pass thru's with them but however the hole is the size of a semi....give and take I guess.

I have always been a fixed blade guy, but this last season I tried the Rage 2 blade on a doe and had a good experience with them. I got a complete pass through with a huge entrance and exit hole. It started raining about 15 minutes before I shot the deer and continued to rain after I shot the deer. I waited 15 minutes before I started tracking instead of my usual 30 minutes to an hour because of the rain. Even with the rain washing away a lot of the blood I still had no trouble following the trail and recovering my deer.

Work great , but on faster bows put a small 1/4 size rubber band on the
closed blades close to the tip .

Check e-bay $6.00 for 100 bands under the search for RAGE !

I tried them last year and they worked ok. The blades come open when I walked to my stand.

While I haven't ever used a Rage at all, I have seen way too many videos of shots that didn't have passthrus for my liking. So with that in mind, I have simply passed on using them. But there are a number of guys who swear by them and won't use anything else.

Rage heads can bring some controversy and I'm not looking to add to that. However, I will only use the 3 blade design. I have used both and have only had pass through shots with the 3 blade and never on a 2 blade. This is from the same bow and arrow set up and shots under 25 yrds shooting a 400 grain arrow out of a #70 bow.

I have had perfection with them all if you consider a deer died each time but I would rather have 2 good sized holes than one gash. Either one will kill an animal if shot in the vitals but I had much easier tracking on the deer I shot with the 3 blades. Actually they all died with in eye sight when I had to track the 2 I shot with a 2-blade.

I will probably use the G5 T3's this year over the Rage 3 blade if I can get my hands on them.

I'm no longer a fan. Shot 2 deer under 25 yds with the 2-blades. No pass through...which I later found out was common. Deer were very easy to find. Durability is ZERO. Old design stripped screws and on the new heads with the roll pin I had one fly apart on a shot at 7 yds. In that 21 feet I lost both blades and a lighted nock along with 2 blazer vanes and never even touched the deer! They open up very easily...too easily in the quiver. I found myself always checking to make sure the blades were closed. My confidence in them is shot. I switched to shooting a fixed blade but would love to try out that new T3.

Not to sound like a jerk because I don't mean this in such a fashion, but with such a large diameter cut, you really can't expect regular pass throughs. And as for the rest of your statement, you are pretty well right on the money.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. It makes sense to me now. The pass throughs never really concerned me as much as the lack of durability.

The new Grim Reaper Whitetail will have a 2" cutting diameter with three blades. Will be interesting to see they compate to the Rage as far as passthroughs.

I'd also like to see Rage use the tips from the Snyper XP3 on the rage heads with STEEL furrels.......... Then I may try them.

I love the Rage 2 blade! I've been shooting them for 3 years now. I've shot quite a few deer with them and never had a problem. Almost all of them were complete pass throughs. They make huge holes that lead to massive blood trails.

Thumbs up I use a 2 blade rage!

I was unsure whether to shoot a buck last year because of his size. I decided to shoot him and made a perfect gut shot at 15 yards. The Rage 2 blade went right through the buck and he ran out about 60yards into a field and I could see his guts coming out of his side. He went maybe 200 yards and he had a 4" entrance hole and about a 2 3/4" exit hole. I would recommend them! But check them every time you load one on your bow.. I did a video on the 2 blade and how easy they open.. I have done allot of archery product review videos..

Default Rage awareness

The biggest thing to pay attention to when hunting with the rages is making sure that they are snapped in place. I would always check the O rings and make sure they are good.. This could prevent some premature deployment.
