Default Muzzy Frustrated!!

Well was going to give the MX3's a try but say what you may this guy (me) cannot seem to figure out how to put them together. Good thing they're just the practice blades or I'd have no finger tips left, lol. Any suggestions?

Have you checked the Muzzy webpage? I've never played with the MX heads, but I do shoot the regular 3 blade Muzzy. I don't know if there is a difference in assembly. The webpage does have videos of assembling the regular 3 and 4 blade heads. There might be a video of the MX series if they are different. Might be worth a look, if you haven't already

Go to our website on the main page, highlight Support and click on Technical Support then go down to 3bl broadhead assembly and watch the video that should help you. Once you learn the technique of aligning the blades in the slots, they will go together very quickly and most people can assemble a complete head in under a minute easily. Good luck!

It's all about technique when installing the blades once you learn it they go together quickly. In fact we use to setup a timer at shows and have people come by and see hwo quickly they could put a 3bl head together. fastest time was about 14 seconds if I remember right.

Default That's Funny!

Hey Man, that Mark guy would know. I had some trouble with the MX-3's at first to, but now it's pretty easy when you get the hang of it. I've learned a lot about setting up and tuning this year as well and am pretty pleased how they fly. It's more work for tuning, but I love to build my arrows now. It took about an hour and a half and had to ID a few not so perfect arrows. When I was through though, I had all 6 Muzzy's flying true at 30 yrds! I'm so stoked about getting to try them out THIS Saturday!!!! N. Florida Public Land Hunter!!!

Once you get the first one its like riding a bike without training wheels for the first time. Its worth it after you learn how. Another thing I learned is us the Montec G5 Arrow Squaring Device to square up the inserts (sorry Mark, I had to buy the Montec product under protest cause Muzzy dont make one) MAN did that make my arrows fly amazing. I hear alot of people say Muzzys dont fly straight. Use a gnarly helicle and square them arrows!! Pie Plates at 60 yards with the old school 4 blades out of a Mathews z7 shooting 277 fps.

I understand Art! I always square my arrows up when I cut them and I use epoxy to install inserts with as well. I wait for them to start setting up then attach broadheads and spin and turn in 1/8 turn increments until they spin straight. I have found with most carbon arrows that if you just slam inserts in and go with it I will end up with at least 4-5 arrows that do not spin well, but by spinning and turning the inserts as the epoxy hardens I can get all of them to spin perfectly.
Incorrectly installed inserts and no helical fletching are 2 of the main broadhead flight and consistency problems I regularly run across.
