Default Do muzzy 3 blade 125 not like fast bows

Shot the 3 blade 125 grain with my old bow the last several years. I just bought a vendetta this summer and bought some mechanicals to shoot from it. Decided since I have had success with the muzzy bh that I would give them a try. After bh tuning my bow I started to notice the sound difference in the muzzy and the mechanical. Muzzy was loud. I could hear it all the way to the target. Am I missing something or are all fixed blade heads louder than mechanical heads? Did not notice a noise with my old slow bow (230 fps). Thanks.

The faster you push something through the air the more noise itsgoing to make. I call this the hiss of death. The animal will not react to it. It's the tang of the bow that they will react to.

Have not noticed any noise with our heads, but have definitely noticed a noise difference with some types of fletching. If the head is giving you noise, then you could have some blade damage or something in the ferrule from the target, but the heads should not make much noise at all going downrange!

I will check the blades and the heads and make sure they are tight and don't have any trash stuck in them. I am still planning to use them this year. Thanks

Hi all!

This is my first time here and my first post.

I did a test that included 3 blade Muzzy's and how they sounded at different distances and different angles.

It's not a conclusive or scientific test by any means but it was interesting nonetheless.

PS - We used a Mathews Switchback shooting at around 310 fps
