Default Question about size of the blades on diferent weight of MX-3

Why does the MX-3 100 gn have a diferent blade size of the rest of the others MX-3(125 gn;75 gn)?question of curiosity

The 100gn are the only ones it arrive here but we would like to try the 125 gn,the other problem are the replaceble blades we have noted that they are diferent .

PS-MX-3 are making lots of damage in our wild pigs(portuguese name:javali;cientific name sus srofa) they are very resistent and smart.
MX-3 imposed it self has the best broadhead for then.
Thank you for this great product(same caractristics of the standard muzzy but with a far better flight) .

The shorter length of the ferrules on the 75 and 125gr heads use a shorter blade, the original 100gr MX-3 had a longer ferrule thus longer blades. There is no way to get the ferrule shorter and use shorter, smaller blades and still be able to get 100grs out of the head thus the need for the slightly longer head and blades. Thanks and continued success to you.

Hi there.

May i say i'm the responsable for this MX-3 fever in Portuguese hunter's. It is a Bad to the bone broadhead and i´m becoming faithful to muzzy.

Never the less i would like to refrase my good friend Pointerman question.

Comparing the MX-3 100 and the MX-3 125, the 100 (1 1/4") has a bigger cutting diameter than the 125 (1 3/16"). Why is that?

Also, does the replacement blades for the 125 and 75 are the same?

Thank's for this forum and opportunity to learn with the best.

I will try to upload some photos of my MX-3 kills, meanwhile you have already the film (Muzzy blod trail).

Awesome broadhead.

Best regards.

The new MX-3 75 and 125gr heads use the same blades and tip, only the ferrule is different. The blades are slightly smaller in cutting width due to the shorter nature of the blades, by increasing cutting width it would create a sharper angle on the blade and we have a minimum angle we like to stay at in order to ensure adequate penetration and still maintain an aggressive cut. Those short, compact blades really punch a nice hole in the animal and you will not be dissapointed. The 75 and 125's have a 1.92 total cutting width vs 2.10 for the 100gr MX-3 model so really not a lot of difference. Good luck
