Default What's the big deal about about mechanicals anyway?

I'm a 61 old redneck guy just getting but into bowhunting after a 15 year absence.I used to live and hunt in Montana between Ft Peck lake and the Milk River.I always shot Muzzy 3 blade 125 grain broadheads with great success.I let the animals get close and broad side before I shot. The Muzzy blood trails were the kind "a blind hippy" could follow.I could see the blood trails from my stand and most of the time the critter, expired.
I'm going to get some 4 blade Muzzy 90 or 100 grains for next season. Why "put a rage in the cage" when you can "feel all warm and fuzzy with you zip through them with a Muzzy"?South dakota deer and Antelope beware.Bill

Hey Bill, welcome to BHT! And, welcome back to bowhunting. Nothing in the world wrong with a "fuzzy Muzzy" If you've been out of the game a while check out their new Phantoms, sweet looking head.

Close and broadside is old school and I dig that. Great way to bowhunt! Have fun.

Thanks Stan and welcome back Bill, great site here, not all that bickering going on and alot of really good people here.
Don't forget to check out the RFA line of heads as well, super tough, great shooting and penetrating heads that perform very well.

Default As Mark said

I just got on here yesterday......I am a primary at Steel Force.
One thing I can say without question is that the Broadhead industry has a lot of very good competition.....fixed or Mech. Check em all out.
We are all just trying to make a living doing what we love to do.
It is great to see constructive debate and a chance to give unbiased responses to questions.
Mech heads have come a long way, and for those that want a larger hole in game......mech's are the only way to feasibly get it.
But the Ol 90 grain Muzzy 4 blade built a well deserved reputation for flight and durability.......and the last time I checked....a 1" hole in the lungs was a bad thing.....especially when it penetrated enough to leave blood on the ground.
The Muzz is like the model 94 winchester of of heads.....been around a long time, still works, and isn't going anywhere.
