Default muzzy traditional 4 blade flight issues ?

my neighbor of all people gave me a pack of the 130's that i just bought and said he got them a year ago when he did a ( weekend warrior hunt ) and he said they flew like crap, 6 shots with the same head made 6 different impacts 8" apart. he shoots competition stuff with a recurve and fingers, but made only a few shots with a random compound bow he was handed and went out in the field to hunt..........................

i slapped them on my arrows and even when the BH wasnt totally true ( insert has a issue ) they flew true. 40 yards was grouping 5 "

has this happen to others ? i take what he says like a grain of sandy-salt but ive read some have issues with the 4 blades.

I think the biggest problem with most fixed blade arrow flight is due to a lack of fletching stability in the arrow and most are trying to shoot larger broadheads with small straight fletch vanes and that just does not work especially if the bow/arrow setup is not tuned very well.

i agree, i went to a 2* Fletch and noticed my tuning became easier. granted, i was getting 2" groups at 40 yards with 2 blade broadheads and the 1* helical. but it seems the 2* is a bit more forgiving

I agree with Mark. I believe it's poor fetching and also poor arrow to broadhead square. You never realize how bad that effects flight until you shoot an of square arrow.

I am shooting the original 4 blade muzzy (not MX4) with Blazer vanes out of my bows with no issues. I keep coming back to this head because it works every time. I put another buck in the freezer this past weekend with this BH and I couldn't have been more happy with the performance. As many heads as I have used I always come back to this one.

The fella just grabbed a random bow that he was not familiar with and went on a hunt. I doubt the broadhead had anything to do with the lack of accuracy.

Original 4bl 100 works great for me, always my go to head even when I try others always back to muzzy, I've never found any other head hold up to year around shooting, or that penatrates as well, the 115 gr work great for years with alluminum arrows but now shoot acc's , looking forward to the new 4bl phantom.
