ok so this is one of the broadheads I was thinking to use on my first bow hunt but had some doubt if if my bow had the mustard to have these heads operate on a high level. I am shooting #65 and 28 in draw using 250 grain arrows. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

One thing, I'm assuming you're describing the arrow weight minus a head @ 250grs.—which would put your finished arrow @ 350grs. once you screwed the BR to the shaft. You might get better penetration overall with a heavier arrow—but of course would lose some speed. Anyway, I think you'd be just fine with that setup and the Bloodrunner 3-blade. |

I agree with Jason. You may want to bump up your arrow weight to add a little Front of Center (FOC) and increase you Kinetic Energy (KE). Kind of makes the arrow assume a pull penetration versus a push penetration. Imagine tying a rope to the broadhead and pulling it through the animal versus trying to push the arrow through with your palm on the nock. You will get a better straight line arrow path with a heavier FOC. By the way Darton's are great shooting bow's.

I agree with that. It is a good shooting bow. Its older, more like a hand me down but it will do well by me for some years to come until I can afford a newer one, or maybe not. I don't know. Ha

How do they perform past 25 yds? It just seems that the big ferrule would affect the heads flight.

Some packs do come with a practice head. I haven't shot the 3 blade but I am a fan of the 2 blade. although, I found that I have to have the blades vertical with the cock-vane or else my arrows hit high left.
