Default Loving the Phoenix

I will say I have been preparing for the broadhead testing. Well one of my tests is to weigh each head to see how close to the 100 grain mark they hit.

I sharpened 1 of them to hunting sharp so I could see how tough they were to hone. Well the heads weighed in at 102, 102, and the one I sharpened weighed in 101.6 grains.

Great quality control Stan! I can't wait to put them to the full test!

Ya see there, at .4 grains per sharpening you can kill at least five critters before you drop under 100 grains

Really looking forward to the tests you've got planned, Dustin, thanks for taking the time to do that.

I am sure you would really drop less then .4 I really went to town sarpening this one, there was just tiny spot that was lower on each side of the blades and I took them down to perfectly flat blades on all sides. I bet you loose less then .2 grains on a normal sharpening.

And your more then welcome Stan, I have wanted to do a test for a long time just never had time. Well this year I am really out doing myself 9 tests and I have 14 heads to put through the gauntlet!

Also on a side note guys, if you are worried about sharpening the phoenix it is super super easy to get a very sharp edge on them. I use a chainsaw depth gauge file (the flat files) and it only takes about 6 strokes to get them there. I make 3 real heavy passes then 1 light flip it over take the burr off then on more light pass on the front and they are ready for the woods.

Like I did with the talon order a set and if you don't like them contact me I will be more then happy to take them off your hands. Having a few of these in stock won't hurt my feelings

Stan every day I look at this head, I find something else that impresses me. Keep it up I can't wait to see what else RFA is going to offer.

I can't say enough good things about this head Stan, I was shooting them a little last night and all I can say it they were drilling the same hole as the field points. (After I pulled out the field point arrow, can't be runing arrows that close to season)

They are a well penetrating, accurate head that's for sure! I can't wait to see how it performs on a whitetail.

I am hoping to put one through a pronghorn next weekend. But it is going to be a tough hunt, going to be spot stalking in the grasslands. It has very little cover and very gentle rolling hills.
