Steve...likewise buddy....really stoked to be on your first ATHENS BUCK COMMANDER bow kill with ya....you were due man.......Mark was a blast as well...

Wait till you guys see the video...BFL is a natural...

Stan...quit down playing your shooting ability...you rock buddy..
You really need to get Anna that Athens Protege...
Thanks for making some awesome broadheads buddy ....

Bill and Chris...wish you guys could have made it...maybe next time...

Nothing like waiting till the last minute to shoot something ....saw 5 hogs the whole time I was there...but had no shot...and as BFL said...I took it out on a hen..put a stalk on her...and whacked her with a talon...

Here is a pic with the talon (left side) and a phoenix (right side) through the hen

And as you saw earlier... the final resting place of her...

More stuff to come....

I knew I was missing a good time by not going. It looks like you guys had a blast and was able to put the Phoenix through a couple live critters! I can't wait to see more pics and that video of BFL shooting his hog! I hope next year there will be another RFA hunt of some kind so I can join you guys and have a chance to meet ya'll.

Ok guys, I'm back from my son's baseball game. I have to get the little one in bed, so hopefully later I can post some of the other pics I have.

Bill, it's funny you mention another RFA hunt. Stan was already talking about it while we were winding down Sunday.

BHT community - The Phoenix is the real deal folks. Get you some and give them a ride.

I'll be back in a little with more pics.....

This broadhead is a stud. Hey, maybe that's what I'll name one, STUD! There you go Okie, run with that......

Here are some of the pics from the Phoenix pounding some hog. Pardon the crappy pics, I only had my cheap "field" camera on the trip, and most of the pics didn't turn out. I have my hog in the ice chest and will get more pics when I pull it out of there. But for now.....

Exit hole on Stan's hog. Hopefully he and Travis have better pics.

Man Stan great job, and great shooting everyone!

Looks like it was a blast, and if another RFA hunt goes down I would love to make it!

There will definitely be more RFA Staff hunts ...already thinking about the next one.

The hog I shot was about 30 yards out from my stand. He was not at a feeder, but walking along a tree line. I drew on him and followed him for about 20 yards, but he didn't stop for a while. When he finally stopped he was perfectly broadside so I settled my pin and squeezed the release. As I was putting pressure on the trigger he turned and headed into toward the trees. I touched the shot off as he turned and hit him just in front of his left hind leg. The arrow angled forward and exited behind the right shoulder by a few inches...a less than ideal shot. He ran into the trees about 40 yards and piled up with a walk behind blood trail. Here's some pics.

Entrance

Exit

And some minus the hide

Glad you were able to recover him Stan! That sounds like one heck of a hunt, looks like the Phoenix did its job on that hog.

Stan is a deadeye, that hog didn't stand a chance. The Phoenix rocks. We just aren't very good at taking pics, at least I'm not. I will definitely take some better quality pics on my next Phoenix kill. Can't wait for the next RFA hunt.

That is the way I am as well. I get caught up in the moment and forget to take pics

We missed ya, had tons of laughs. The hunting was slow, but certainly worth the trip. See ya on the next one, or sooner....?
